Mission Statement

Beyond preparing students for success in High School, our mission in 8th Grade  Science is:

To foster a lifelong interest in understanding the physical world around us, and to begin gaining the knowledge to make our stewardship of the Earth more productive and rewarding for ourselves and future generations. 

To this end, we make use of both the Socratic Method and student-led, inquiry based activities to help develop positive, confident, assertive learners. 

We Explore relevant intriguing questions,

We Connect and share questions, discoveries, and conclusions with other teams, classes, and teachers

We Persist in the face of uncertainty and confusion using our resources to gain understanding.
